Practical dance training for skill development

Teaching contemporary movement through remote workshops

We've been running practical online sessions since 2023. Our focus is on helping people develop real skills they can apply immediately, not abstract theory or vague principles.

What we actually do

We design structured exercises for movement techniques that require specific physical understanding. Each workshop breaks down complex sequences into manageable components.

Participants work through progressions at their own pace. The format lets you pause, review, repeat sections until the mechanics make sense in your body.

Our instructors demonstrate variations for different mobility ranges and explain the reasoning behind technical choices. No mystical language or performance metaphors.

Core focus areas

  • Floor work transitions with weight distribution control
  • Spatial awareness exercises for improvised pathways
  • Timing precision in partnered sequences
  • Balance recovery techniques during momentum shifts
  • Release mechanics for efficient energy use

Step-by-step progressions

You get recorded sessions with clear breakdown of each movement phase. Watch instructors demonstrate from multiple angles, then practice on your own schedule.

Skill application sessions

Short assignments that test specific techniques in different contexts. You submit recordings for feedback on execution and timing decisions.

Collaborative experiments

Small group sessions where participants respond to the same prompts and compare approaches. Scheduled video calls let you see how others solve the same movement problems.

Who designs these workshops

Two instructors handle content development and participant feedback. Both have teaching backgrounds in contemporary technique and years of experience adapting movement practices for remote formats.

Linnea Vuorinen

Senior Movement Instructor

Linnea develops the structured progressions for floor-based transitions. She focuses on weight distribution mechanics and spatial navigation, breaking sequences into components you can actually practice in limited home space.

Workshop Facilitator

Siobhan runs the collaborative sessions and reviews participant submissions. She specializes in improvisational exercises that build timing precision and responsive decision-making without requiring choreography memorization.
